Engine, Oil, Transmission, Clutch
The Lamborghini comes equipped with a heavily revised version of the naturally aspirated dual overhead camshaft 5.2L V10. The engine utilizes both direct injection and muli-point fuel injection systems in order take advantage of either system, depending on the driving conditions. The dry-sump oil system helps lubricate in extreme driving conditions and lowers the center of gravity. With 600+ hp and 400+ lb-ft of torque transmitted to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, it boasts some of the most impressive acceleration numbers in it’s class. The transmission is laid out in a rear trans axle configuration with an integrated locking mechanical differential. It sends power to the front via a BorgWarner electronically controlled wet multi-clutch system.

The Lamborghini uses timing chains and should last the lifetime of the car. However, they should be inspected annually in order to make sure that the links aren’t stretched or the timing gears aren’t worn/chipped.
Note that the Lamborghini Service guide is recommending this maintenance schedule if driven regularly on public roads. If the vehicle is tracked, wear and tear will be accelerated and should be serviced earlier and more frequently than the schedule outlined above.
Brakes, Rotors, Pads & Fluid
As fast as the Lamborghini is, it needs to stop just as fast in order to really outperform its rivals. Being the Supercar that it is, the Lamborghini comes equipped with some serious braking capability. The massive slotted and drilled carbon-ceramic rotors measure 380mm in diameter for the front wheels, and 356mm for the rear. They are clamped down on the front by 6-piston monoblock aluminum calipers, and 4-piston in the rear.
The brake rotors themselves should last the lifetime of the vehicle. However, brake pads wear will vary based on driving conditions and driving style. The harder someone is on their brakes, the more frequently they must be changed. This is why it is important to inspect the brake wear at each service interval. Brake fluid must be changed every year to ensure that the system isn’t contaminated with moisture, air, or dirt.
Tires, Suspension & Alignment
As standard, the Lamborghini rides on double wishbone suspension with passive dampers. There is an option to specify adjustable magnetorheological shocks on all four corners. They are able to adjust stiffness electronically via a switch in the cabin. The suspension system and the geometry should be checked annually at each service.
The suspension’s job is to not only keep a comfortable ride; it is also to provide optimal handling characteristics. Properly functioning suspension will keep alignment within specification in a straight line as well as in the corners. Moreover, this keeps the tires from wearing unevenly. At each service interval, it is recommended to check the suspension components for any squeaks, rattles, leakage, or play.
Alignment can seriously affect both tire wear as well as the handling characteristics of a car. Therefore, it is imperative that the alignment is checked on a regular basis. The Lamborghini Service Guide recommends checking camber, castor, and toe for tolerances within factory specification, or a custom specification if deemed necessary.
Tires are also wearable items that need to be checked at every service interval. Unfortunately, many owners tend to ignore their tires. As they are the only part of your vehicle that are in contact with the ground, they affect handling, acceleration, braking, and crucially, safety. Wear will vary depending on driving conditions, driving style, and whether or not the vehicle is all-wheel drive or not.
The Lamborghini comes with these OEM tire sizes:
FRONT TIRES: 245/20/R20
REAR TIRES: 305/30/R20
European Coach Inc carries a wide selection of road and track Lamborghini Huracan tires on stock and available to order. A free consultation is available to determine which tire is best for your individual driving needs.
